Apply for Assistance (Lawyers Only)

Only lawyers can request assistance for their clients.

The Sara Snyder Defendant Support Fund provides attorneys a resource to cover the cost of these types of obstacles for clients who are trying to make a change and for whom this help could be transformative. 

Grants have paid for a range of items, including an outstanding bond forfeiture that allowed for the expungement of a client’s record, a victim impact panel fee, Theft Talk fees, and security monitoring device fees. The fund also paid for eyeglasses for a client so she could participate in her own defense. 

Our operating guidelines are as follows: 
Expediency: Quick turnaround, low hurdles, minimal effort for the requesting attorney, no strings attached
Flexible guidelines: We will consider a donation to any situation that removes a major obstacle for a defendant
Small disbursements: Our target is under $300 per request, but will go up to $500 in some cases. 

Checks will be disbursed directly to the requesting attorney.
